In December 2012, God opened my eyes to His plans for a revival in Ireland. But first I needed a revival in my heart. Over the years that followed that 2013 – 2015, the Lord overwhelmed me with His love and dramatic changes in my life took place. Everything that could be shaken was shaken, and I set my heart like a flint to continue to seek God no matter the cost, no matter what I had to leave behind. Around 2015, I hit a bit a spiritual wall and I began to become more aware of spiritual strongholds that were holding back the nation of Ireland from moving forth into revival. It was then that I began to cry out ‘here I am, send me’. Since then, my wife Edith and I have been on intercessory missions all around Ireland and further afield. The first was within the nation and was to remove and declare an end to ‘man-made’ religious strongholds in Ireland. We were led every step of the way by the Holy Spirit, and as each piece of religion was revealed, our hearts were similarly challenged and we underwent a process of shedding religion. Following this, in 2016 and 2017 we were sent on another intercessory mission to stand against the powers of witchcraft corrupting this land of Ireland and specifically to stand against the corrupting influence of the European Union.
Here is some of what God shared with me in 2012
In the first one of these visions, I saw the sunrise, a ‘new dawn’ for a new kind of belief. For years people have worked the fields of Ireland, but there has been a harsh winter. But now God is seeking a new level of faith, blind faith in His purpose and strength. Many people speak words of faith, but when the waves of the storm reach the boat, worry sets in. But God is saying, ‘rise up and have faith. Have faith in the impossible. You must no longer say revival will come. People who say that don’t have the faith with which I will answer, instead, say that revival is here, a revival has come, and believe it blindly.’ If you want revival in your church right now, you must have faith. James mentioned faith at this level when he wrote, “But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind” James 1:6 ESV.
In the second vision, God showed me a mountain, and I saw the clouds gather, and in fear the blackbirds took flight. Then I saw random raindrops falling before the heavens opened. And I saw the rain come down the mountain as the clouds spread out like a storm across the land, carrying the rain of the Holy Spirit. And I heard a voice say, ‘go and tell them that I am sending my rain like a flood unto the land.’ Perhaps this rain will be like what Isaiah prophesied when he declared, “Shower, O heavens, from above, and let the clouds rain down righteousness; let the earth open, that salvation and righteousness may bear fruit; let the earth cause them both to sprout; I the LORD have created it” Isaiah 45:8 ESV.
In the third vision, God showed me the rain once again as it started to form a vast river in the valley. This great river began to flood, and so it burst its banks, flooding the land with God’s glory and power. The flow of the river was so strong that it started to take unexpected paths as it cut its way through the land. It left deposits of blessings wherever it flowed, even to unforeseen areas. I sat on a log and travelled down the river and surveyed things that God was doing. Eventually, I reached the sea and saw a vast ocean of waves which symbolised the power and might of God, and I heard His voice say, ‘this is the resource and power I am putting into my revival in this land.’ Perhaps we will experience similar to what Isaiah spoke of, “For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants” Isaiah 44:3 ESV.
In the fourth vision, I heard a voice say, ‘take them to where My waters flow so that they may stand deep in the waters of my blessing. There they will grow and bear fruit. My resources do not end, so come, stand in My presence.’ This instruction reminded me of the words spoken by Ezekiel, “And wherever the river goes, every living creature that swarms will live, and there will be very many fish. For this water goes there, that the waters of the sea may become fresh; so everything will live where the river goes. Fishermen will stand beside the sea. From Engedi to Eneglaim it will be a place for the spreading of nets. Its fish will be of very many kinds, like the fish of the Great Sea. But its swamps and marshes will not become fresh; they are to be left for salt. And on the banks, on both sides of the river, there will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, nor their fruit fail, but they will bear fresh fruit every month, because the water for them flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for healing” Ezekiel 47:9-12 ESV.
In a fifth vision, I saw a few heads of barley in a field that had become ripe. The harvest had begun. God said to me, ‘this is just a sample of the harvest that is coming’. Jesus instructed us, “Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, then comes the harvest’? Look, I tell you, lift up your eyes, and see that the fields are white for harvest” John 4:35 ESV.
In a sixth vision, God took me onto the base of the mountain, where I found a large constructed pillar. God said to me, ‘this does not belong here, smash it to pieces and cast it from my land.’ Then there was a rumbling, and I felt the very earth shake all around me, and God spoke in such power that it echoed to a great distance, and He proclaimed, ‘this is My land.’
Afterwards, God revealed to me the interpretation of these visions, they were the sequence of events leading to the revival. First, the clouds will gather in anticipation, and then raindrops will fall and hit seemingly ‘random’ people. They will be forerunners and a sample of what is to come. God will use them to help achieve His goal. Then an outburst of rain will fall in one place and spread out from there across the land. Then as people are becoming revived, God will call back the fallen and use them to cause a flood, and the harvest will come. Ireland will be changed. Its very image to the world will be broken and transformed from a ‘land of drunks’ into a ‘people who have turned to God’. Praise God!
What it comes to is summed up in the verses which begin “If my people”. Our hope is that the people of Ireland will humbles themselves (casting away their own ideas, plans, opinions and pride) and pray and seek God.
